Relax in more VIP lounges around the world.
If your oneworld frequent flyer tier status is Emerald or Sapphire, or you are travelling in a First or Business Class cabin on any oneworld member airline, you can access over 600 VIP airport lounges throughout the world.
This means you can relax or catch up with work in comfort and style before departure, regardless of which oneworld member airline you choose to fly with.
To be eligible, you must be departing on a flight that is marketed and operated by a oneworld member airline. Some lounges may get busy at peak times and access to them may be restricted as a result. A non-affiliated third party may operate some VIP lounges on behalf of the individual airline. Access to some VIP lounges operated by third-parties on behalf of oneworld member airlines may be restricted at some times.
Arrivals VIP lounges are excluded.
Pre-flight dining facilities and spa are excluded.
British Airways Concorde lounges are excluded.
Enjoy exclusive access to VIP airport lounges around the world with oneworld Emerald or Sapphire frequent flyer tier status.
Members of oneworld frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status can use any VIP lounge offered by any oneworld airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline, regardless of the cabin class they are flying in.
Emerald tier frequent flyers can use First Class, Business Class or frequent flyer VIP lounges.
Sapphire tier frequent flyers are welcome in Business Class* or frequent flyer VIP lounges. (*does not include Business Class VIP lounges on Qantas domestic flights)
Emerald and Sapphire members may invite a guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier.
You must be prepared to show your boarding pass and frequent flyer membership card, with oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status, to access the VIP lounge.
The following exceptions apply:
American Airlines and Qantas offer programmes enabling customers to pay to gain access to their VIP lounges. These programmes are not part of the oneworld and members of these programmes are not entitled to access VIP lounges under the oneworld agreement.
Members of American Airlines AAdvantage, regardless of their tier status or travel class, cannot access American Airlines lounges when travelling solely on North American flights within or between the USA, Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean. For more information, visit www.americanairlines.ie
Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold members, regardless of their oneworld tier status, cannot access Business VIP Lounges on Qantas domestic flights.
Indulge yourself before departure in a wider range of airport VIP lounges when you fly First Class or Business Class with any oneworld member airline.
Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of VIP lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. First Class passengers may use a Business Class or frequent flyer VIP lounge if a First Class VIP lounge is not available. First Class passengers may invite a guest to join them in the VIP lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline.
Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6 a.m. the following day, can access the VIP lounge when travelling between an international long-haul* and an international short-haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa). (* a oneworld international long-haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by anyoneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours)
VIP lounge access will be determined on the international long-haul flight purchased (either First or Business Class) regardless of the service class purchased on the international short-haul or domestic flight.
You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long-haul flight in order to access the VIP lounge before your international short-haul or domestic flight.
The following exceptions apply:
First and Business Class customers who do not hold Emerald or Sapphire tier status are not eligible to access American Airlines VIP lounges when travelling on solely domestic flights within the USA or between the USA and Canada, Mexico [except Mexico City], the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean unless the flight is on the exception list below:
Customers travelling in First or Business class on USA transcontinental flights between JFK-LAX, JFK-SFO and MIA-LAX (and vice-versa) are eligible to access the VIP lounges.
More options with oneworld.
If you are a member of American Airlines AAdvantage® Program, British Airways Executive Club, Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Club, Finnair Plus, JAL Mileage Bank, Iberia Plus, LANPASS, Malaysia Airlines Enrich, Qantas Frequent Flyer, Qatar Privilege Club, Royal Jordanian Royal Plus, S7 Priority, SriLankan FlySmiles or Tam Fidelidade, your rewards and privileges are extended throughout the oneworld Alliance.
You will earn miles in your own programme each time you travel on eligible flights and fares of any oneworld alliance airline. Earning Avios never been so easy: fly with us, use our partners (hotels, cars, tours, etc.) and don't forget to show your membership card at the check-in.
Eligible flights will also count towards improving or maintaining your tier status. And, when you are ready to redeem your rewards, you can do so across the alliance's worldwide network, with almost 1.000 destinations around the world.
Members of each oneworld alliance airline can earn and redeem miles with their airline partners – so when you're ready to redeem your miles or Avios for a travel award, oneworld brings you more options than ever.
Simply check the number of miles or Avios required with your own airline's frequent flyer programme, as miles or Avios required vary by airline. The number of miles or Avios redeemed also varies, depending on the distance and service class you travel on.

To make a reservation using your miles or Avios, or to check how many of them you will need, ask your frequent flyer programme customer contact point.
We know your time is precious and you would prefer to be in one of the 600 oneworld lounges rather than waiting in line at airport security. That is why, at select airports worldwide, oneworld Emerald frequent flyers (including Iberia Plus Platinum members) can access the ‘Fast Track’ or ‘Priority Lanes' at security check points no matter which cabin they are travelling in. See below for details and the list of airports where this privilege is available.
Due to restrictions or local agreements with security Fast Track facility operators, not all oneworld carriers are currently able to extend this benefit to all Emerald tier customers.
